Personalized Care from the Start
Dr. Selnes, our experienced orthodontist of 29 years, and all of the staff here believe in treating every patient like family. That means taking the time to get to know you, your smile goals, and any concerns you may have.
Dr. Selnes will create a personalized Treatment Plan just for you, using advanced technology like Lightforce Braces or Invisalign clear aligners.
This will all happen based on the examination and information shared during your complimentary consultation appointment.

Your Complimentary Consultation & Individual Treatment Plan
Before Your First Visit
Here are a few preparatory steps before arriving at your consultation:
- Upon first contact, we'll send you information by email or over the phone to make the process as smooth as possible.
- We'll work with you to get some paperwork sorted, like health records, and obtaining x-rays from your dentist (if available)
- Collect and bring your insurance information, if applicable
- Jot down any questions or concerns you'd like to discuss with Dr. Selnes
- Read through our website to learn all about our approach, your treatment options, and how we'll help to create a beautiful smile for you
We'll guide you through everything quite easily, but if you have any questions beforehand, we're here to answer them.
At the complimentary consultation, you'll be guided through a series of steps to ensure we get a complete picture of your unique smile (or your child's) and how we can help you achieve your goals. The appointment takes about an hour.
- Digital Assessment: We start with the high-tech scan that was mentioned above, instead of those old-school goopy impressions. Our iTero 3D scanner will create an incredibly accurate digital model of your teeth. It's quick, comfortable, and a whole lot cooler!
- Chat with Our Treatment Coordinator: Next, you'll have a one-on-one chat with our friendly Treatment Coordinator in a private room. We'll go over your medical history, and you can ask any questions you have. We'll make sure Dr. Selnes is fully informed before he comes in to meet you.
- Exam with Dr. Selnes: Now it's time for the main event! Dr. Selnes will give you a thorough exam, using your 3D scans and any X-rays we may have taken or obtained. He'll explain everything in plain language, but in enough detail, so you understand what's going on with your bite, teeth, and any orthodontic needs you might have. Before any treatment has started, you can even see in pictures and video how your smile will be transformed with treatment. Feel free to ask him anything!
- Your Personalized Treatment Plan: After Dr. Selnes' exam, our Treatment Coordinator will return to discuss the nitty-gritty details of your Treatment Plan. We'll break down your insurance coverage, help you schedule appointments, and go over the fees involved. We'll even take care of submitting your insurance pre-determination for you.
- You're All Set! Before you head out, you'll receive a folder packed with information about your treatment options, along with timelines and costs. You'll also receive a follow-up email summarizing everything we discussed, including digital copies of your 3D scans.
Whether you're ready to start your smile transformation right away or need some time to think it over, we'll make sure you have all the info you need to make the best decision for your smile goals.

You're one step closer to achieving your dream smile! Once you and Dr. Selnes decide on the best Treatment Plan for you, please contact us and we'll schedule your first appointment and help you with the paperwork.
Follow-up appointments will typically occur every 6-12 weeks, depending on your specific needs and the Treatment Plan you choose.
